HOLSEY CHAPEL--"A Beacon of Hope for the Community"

Rev. Dr. Leroy E. Dumas, Jr. has been spreading the gospel for thirty years.  He is a graduate of Alabama A&M University, Huntsville, Ala., where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in building construction in 1972.  In 1983, he obtained his masters of divinity degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center/ Phillips School of Theology in Atlanta, GA.   Dr. Dumas received his Doctorate in Church Renewal and Revitalization in 1994 from McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, IL.

Prior to his recent assignment as a returning pastor at the Holsey Chapel CME Church, Rev. Dr. Leroy E. Dumas, Jr. was the pastor for the following churches: Austin Chapel (3 years); Holsey Chapel (2 years); Graham Chapel CME Church, Quitman, GA (2 years); St. Andrews CME Church, Brunswick, GA (20 years) and Good Hope CME Church, Renfro, GA (1 year); West Princeton CME Church, Birmingham, AL (1 year) and St. Mark CME Church, Birmingham, AL (1 year).  He has also held the positions of presiding elder for the Moultrie-McRae-Brunswick District and adjunct professor for ITC/Phillip School of Theology.

Dr. Dumas is married to Laura Mathis-Dumas, formerly of Brunswick, GA.  They are the proud parents of three children a son, Kelly (Carla) and two daughters, Lera Amanda and Kia Briana.  They have three grandsons:  Devon, Connor, and Kellen.
